Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter tasked to boat fire

Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Air Crewman Sean Orsborn said the helicopter was tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority earlier this afternoon.
“The helicopter was tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, just after 1.30pm today after a plane flying overhead spotted the fire,” he said.
“Once we arrived on scene we located a vessel submerged in the water on its side.
“We conducted a thorough search from the air and no one was sighted in the area.”
Emergency services including Queensland Police and Volunteer Marine Rescue also responded.
