Vital communication tools provided to Brisbane Lifesaving Service
The Brisbane Lifesaving Service (BLS) today were presented with new radios, purchased from a government grant.
Surf Life Saving Queensland President Mark Fife accepted the radios from Senator the Hon James McGrath, LNP Senator for Queensland earlier this morning.
The radios are a critical communication tool for all of SLSQ’s lifesaving services. The radios communicate to the State Operations and Communications Centre (SOCC) for any incidents on the beach or in the water. This speedy communication allows for further support to be arranged immediately if required.
Senator McGrath praised the work of surf lifesavers and lifesavers in Queensland.
“The government want to help keep Australians safe and surf lifesavers do a brilliant job in that,” he said.
“The volunteers in our community get out and do the work and we want to help them.”
