Introducing the 2021 Queensland Lifesavers Appeal

Thursday, 5 August 2021

The 2021 Queensland Lifesavers Appeal is Surf Life Saving Queensland’s annual fundraising appeal, formerly known as SOS Week.

The new name is reflective of the true beneficiaries of all the money raised – our 34,000 strong Queensland members and their 57 clubs.

Throughout the Queensland Lifesavers Appeal surf lifesaving clubs across Queensland will have the opportunity to fundraise for their club, with funds going towards vital lifesaving equipment and training for members.

WHEN IS IT?

The campaign kicks off on Saturday 9 October and runs across two action-packed weekends before finishing on Sunday 17 October.

The two weekends should help double fundraising opportunities at your clubs, shopping centres, Bunnings BBQ, train stations and door knocking.

HOW MANY CLUBS HAVE SIGNED UP?

50 of Surf Life Saving Queensland’s 57 clubs have signed up for the 2021 Queensland Lifesavers Appeal.

HISTORY OF THE ANNUAL APPEAL

The annual appeal has had many different iterations over the years including SOS Week and the Summer Surf Appeal.

The 2021 appeal, SOS Week, raised a total of $388,000 for surf lifesaving clubs across Queensland.
