P3 Recovery teams up with Surf Life Saving Queensland
P3 Recovery have partnered with Surf Life Saving Queensland ahead of the annual Queensland Beach Series, where the best sprinters battle it out on the sand in flags and sprint events.
P3 Recovery is the Gold Coast’s elite recovery centre for athletes. The facility provides services to help people prepare, perform and prevent using state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and support at levels usually reserved for elite athletes.
The P3 Queensland Beach Series will run across three rounds this summer, with the first taking place on Saturday 16 October at Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club.
More than 340 competitors across 22 surf lifesaving clubs will compete including Currumbin’s Elizabeth ‘EJ’ Forsyth, the current Open Australian Flags Champion and Maroochydore’s Kiara Rychvalsky, the current Australian Flags Champion.
Surf Life Saving Queensland CEO Dave Whimpey said the organisation was looking forward to welcoming P3 Recovery.
“P3 Recovery is a perfect fit for our organisation as we have athletes, lifeguards and lifesavers who need to keep their body in the best shape,” he said.
“We look forward to having them on board as the Naming Rights Partner for our P3 Queensland Beach Series, which showcases the best athletes we have on the sand.”
P3 Recovery Managing Director Paul Goldfinch echoed Whimpey’s sentiments.
“The values of P3 and Surf Life Saving Queensland align heavily, particularly the focus on community which is a major reason we jumped on board,” he said.
“Surf Life Saving Queensland are a leader in how to support and engage with community across all walks of life. It’s an honour to be able to partner with them.
“Our aim is to help build an even bigger support base for Surf Life Saving Queensland and to provide education to all of its participants on the importance of sports recovery, injury prevention and well-being maintenance.
“Furthermore, exposing people to the significant physical and mental benefits of integrating recovery into your weekly routine – your well-being should come before anything else.”
This weekend, Surf Life Saving Queensland will also be trialling new technology with LiveHeats at the P3 Queensland Beach Series. For the first time there will be an automated club pointscore, updating in real time with results instantly available for all athletes and spectators. Officials will also scan an athlete’s wristband to marshal a whole team in relays and other team events, as well as at the finish line. An automated draw and recording for flags will be also utilised this weekend.
