Jet Rescue Boats to use Tallebudgera Creek as training ground
Tallebudgera Creek will become a training ground for jet rescue boats (JRB) this weekend, as the Jet Rescue Boat Seminar draws participants from across the country.
The conference, which runs from Friday 9th until Sunday 11th, will include presentations by representatives from Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) and Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), and will feature practical exercises in Tallebudgera Creek.
On Saturday, participants will go through an orientation on their craft, exercises in patient pick up, bar crossing and training in spinal management awareness while completing proficiency requirements.
Sunday will see participants back on the water for sonar and GPS exercises.
Three jet rescue boats will be operational during the exercises, which aims to enhance participants driving and crewing skills and update them on the latest JRB practices.
