Kumon partners with Little Lifesavers program
World renowned educational program Kumon will now help children reach their full potential in the water, after coming on board as Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Little Lifesavers’ program naming rights and community partner.
The Little Lifesavers program was created in 1993 in Queensland and educates children on water safety in a fun and educational way. Ultimately the program increases their skills and confidence in the water.
Kumon said they are excited to partner with another brand passionate about educating children.
“I am very excited for Kumon to be partnering with Surf Lifesaving Queensland, because both our organisations are committed to helping children develop essential life skills”, said Yazmine Rieck from Kumon Queensland.
“Surf Lifesaving teaches children how to confidently and safely enjoy the beach, a massive part of life in Queensland. Kumon provides children with strong skills in mathematics and English, and the confidence to excel academically. We see this partnership as a way for both of our organisations to help children grow into confident, well-rounded adults.”
In the 2020-21 season, Little Lifesavers programs reached more than 1,200 children across Queensland. Community Awareness Manager Helen Hallett said SLSQ are excited to work beside another passionate educator.
“Little Lifesavers teaches children from ages 5-11 vital water safety skills to ensure their safety around all bodies of water,” she said.
“The programs are delivered in coastal and metropolitan areas, providing children from various background the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills.
“All of our Community Awareness presenters who run the programs are active volunteer surf lifesavers and teach the skills in an engaging and fun way.
“We are proud to partner with a like-minded educator.”
