EVENT UPDATE – SATURDAY 26 FEBRUARY

2022 Youth State Championships Cancelled

The 2022 Youth State Championships at Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba Beach have been cancelled. The decision was made earlier this morning due to current Queensland Fire and Emergency Service warnings to stay off the roads, flooding of Mooloolaba River and all Sunshine Coast beaches being closed.

Competition was scheduled to take place today Saturday 26 February and Sunday 27 February at Mooloolaba Beach. The event will not be rescheduled.

Surf Life Saving Queensland thanks all officials, sponsors, partners, clubs, competitors and their families for their support and patience over the last few days.

The safety of the public, competitors and members is of utmost importance to us, and we will continue to follow the safety advice given by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

We ask that all involved please take care on the road in their journey home.

EVENT UPDATE – FRIDAY 25 FEBRUARY

The 2022 Youth State Championships is set to resume tomorrow Saturday 26th of February, with all events moved to Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club.

Beach events will start at 7am, with water events commencing at 9am.

Please follow the directions from QLD Fire and Emergency Services in relation to road safety, and wait until further notice before relocating club tents, as the event set up is still in process. We thank you for your cooperation.
