SLSQ is seeking a Brisbane based TAE Facilitator. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for training and assessing Certificate IV in Training and Assessment for SLSQ members and corporate clients in a variety of TAE courses throughout Queensland and other relevant states.

Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) employs over 550 people throughout Queensland. We are a vibrant organisation servicing over 33,000 members. Formally established in 1930, we are the governing body for surf lifesaving in Queensland, comprising of 57 affiliated surf lifesaving clubs in six regional branches. Our organisation also includes supporters’ clubs and a range of programs that involve more than 462,000 participants. We are directly affiliated with, and are a part of Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and the International Life Saving Federation (ILF).

Our Organisation encompasses several diverse arms – lifesaving services, community education, membership services, surf sports, fundraising, aviation, lifeguards and commercial training.

About the Role:

SLSQ is seeking a Brisbane based TAE Facilitator. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for training and assessing Certificate IV in Training and Assessment for SLSQ members and corporate clients in a variety of TAE courses throughout Queensland and other relevant states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and deliver both face-to-face and virtual training sessions through Teams & Zoom after hours and on weekends
  • Plan, organise and deliver one-on-one coaching sessions through Teams, Zoom or phone
  • Assess all TAE courses for SLSQ and other SLS states
  • Contextualise course for SLS needs and requirements
  • Contribute to the design and develop of learning resources and assessments
  • Update and re-design within Learning Management System
  • Engage with SLSQ Chief Training Officers and mentors
  • Attend designated moderations and validations
  • Update training and assessment strategies to reflect cohort
  • Monitor pre-enrolments, enrolments and certification of courses
  • Comply with RTO policy and procedures
  • Comply with Standards for RTO 2015 and other RTO relevant legislation
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Network, build and maintain strong relationships with peak bodies and new markets
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant industry standards, mandatory qualifications and other educational developments in the VET and corporate sectors

About You:

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Education and Requirements:

  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor or TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development or TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor or A higher level qualification in adult education (Essential)
  • At least 2 years working within a Registered Training Organisation (Advantage)
  • Knowledge and experience in working with RTO’s and VET Quality Framework (Essential)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Standards of RTOs 2015. (Essential)
  • Experience working with the TAE Training Package (Advantage)
  • Experience within eLearning framework (Advantage)
  • Proficient in MS Office instructional software (Essential)
  • Experienced in LMS (Advantage)
  • Working with Children Blue Card (Essential)
  • National Police Record Check (Essential)
  • Proof of Identity Check (points of identification and working rights) (Essential)
  • Demonstrable commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people (Essential)
  • Basic understanding of child safety and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (Essential)
