Entry Level

Join the iconic ‘red and yellow army’ and become a fully qualified surf lifesaver on beach patrol.

The Bronze Medallion is considered the pinnacle of Surf Life Saving patrolling awards. As a Bronze Medallion holder you will have the required skills and knowledge relating to surf awareness, rescue techniques, radio communication, CPR and first aid.

You are responsible for patrolling the beach and ensuring that the public remain safe, and may be called upon to perform rescues on the board or with the tube, as well as execute preventative actions.


Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • a minimum of 15 years old on day of course commencement; and
  • able to complete a 400m pool swim in less than 9 minutes
