Take your rescue skills to the next level, get your adrenalin pumping and get out on the water in an inflatable rescue boat.

The inflatable rescue boat (IRB) is a vital piece of surf life saving equipment, requiring two people to operate. As the crew member, you will be responsible for conducting rescues and assisting the driver in IRB operations under their guidance.

You will also be responsible for performing roving patrols along the beach in your immediate area and may be called upon to assist in search and rescue operations should the situation arise.


Requirements

IRB crew must be:

  • a minimum of 15 years old on day of course commencement, and
  • the holder of a proficient SLSA Bronze Medallion.
