Junior Activities

Have a knack for organisation & keeping things in working order?Take charge of the club’s gear in this role as a Gear Steward and be responsible for equipment including nipper boards, sport gear, and patrolling gear

As a Gear Steward you will be responsible for the safe keeping, distribution and maintenance of club gear and equipment. You will also assist the committee to maintain an appropriate gear and equipment registe rensuring that all pieces of equipment are in safe working order. Depending on the size of the club and the amount of equipment in use there may be more than one gear steward required to manage the transport of gear and equipment required for training/carnivals or nipper activities, etc


Requirements

Gear Stewards must:

  • Be a financial member of the surf life saving club
  • Hold a current Blue Card.

It is also desirable that gear stewards hold a current drivers licence and that they complete an ATV, Tractor or 4WD induction dependent upon the type of club vehicle used. Gear Stewards should also be able to demonstrate an ability to tow a trailer.
