Member Development

Surf Life Saving is committed to providing leadership pathways for members in the movement.

Member development programs begin on a club level and are also conducted at branch, state and national levels. Each has a particular focus, and each prepares members for movement through those levels. SLSQ offers a number of opportunities for members to build on their personal and professional capabilities as outlined in the membership development pathway below.

Youth Excellence Program

In April 2019, the Breaka Youth Excellence Program headed to Lake Moogerah with almost 80 young lifesavers between the ages of 15-17 to get them even more excited than they already are about lifesaving. The feedback we received from our 2019 program was undeniably some of the best we’ve ever received, so we’re hoping for even bigger and better in 2020!
