In 2011 the red and yellow army of lifesavers will spend more than 300,000 volunteer hours protecting beachgoers across Queensland.

We will not stop there. SLSQ’s lifesaving efforts also encompass beach safety, education and training, emergency response, surf sports and member development.

There is no end to Surf Life Saving. Our volunteers and helicopter service worked side by side with emergency services during the recent Queensland natural disasters and flood crisis. And through community awareness programs, we educated over 140,000 children and adults across the state.

We will be at our posts, between the flags and beyond. We will reach into far communities, delivering lifesaving education and planting lifesavers in homes, schools, workplaces and neighbourhoods.
