Boardies DayWear your favourite boardies to work and support Queensland's volunteer surf lifesavers!
Fancy an excuse to ditch the suit and tie for work? On Friday, 22 February 2013 you can do just that, as Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) encourages the Sunshine State to participate in Boardies Day 2012/13.
Now in its 5th year, Boardies Day is a national fundraising event coordinated annually by the Surf Life Saving Foundation with the sole objective to raise funds for lifesaving services throughout Australia. Boardies Day offers all sectors of the community with a fun way to help our surf lifesavers while celebrating the start of summer. The premise is simple: forgo your corporate wear/uniform for your favourite board shorts or beach gear, rock up to work or school and make a donation in support of SLSQ. Boardies Day is a fun and easy way for the community to give back to the thousands of volunteer surf lifesavers who donate their time to ensuring the public’s wellbeing on our beaches.
