Our Sponsors

Through the generosity of our sponsors and partner organisations, Surf Life Saving Queensland aims to reduce the cost for clubs to purchase gear, equipment and education resources, participate in lifesaving activities and surf sports, and support our ongoing fundraising efforts. Our sponsors contribute funding and in-kind support for the direct and indirect benefit of our clubs and our members.

Westpac
As the partnership between Westpac and Surf Life Saving Queensland turns 34, the banking corporation’s support can now be felt in virtually every aspect of the movement. Westpac’s generosity allows us to ensure our eyes in the sky, the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopters remain a vital and well-run service and a universally recognised presence in the air. Westpac staff actively support many SLSQ’s events, such as answering telephones as the Channel Nine Surf Safe Appeal. It is their commitment to the many threads of Surf Life Saving Queensland’s work that has made it such a valued partner for more than three decades.
DHL
International express and logistics company DHL continues to maintain its national support of Surf Life Saving in 2010. The red and yellow of DHL has become synonymous with the red and yellow of Surf Life Saving, as the company’s ongoing sponsorship delivers the supply of patrol uniforms for all surf lifesavers – one of the most familiar sights on our beaches. DHL is also a huge supporter of SLSQ’s recognition programs and sponsors the annual awards for Lifesaver of the Year, Lifeguard of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Trainer of the Year, Assessor of the Year and Club of the Year.

 Channel Nine

Channel Nine continues to support many aspects of Surf Life Saving Queensland’s activities, through a mutually beneficial partnership that has now existed in one shape or another for 17 years. Each year Channel Nine makes SLSQ's call for help at the start of summer possible through its support of the Surf Safe Appeal. The network also produces a series of Community Service Announcements to promote general surf safety messages. Channel Nine also produce and air a 60 minute highlights package from the action of the Crazy John’s Queensland Championships and give valuable support to the Jupiters Summer Surf Girl program by providing MC’s for the gala ball.
Telstra

Telstra has maintained its long-time support for Surf Life Saving Queensland with one of its biggest contributions being the highly successful Beach to Bush program. The Telstra Beach to Bush program is one of the largest and most innovative education programs in Australia and allows lifesavers to visit rural schools to teach the importance of beach safety. The telco also helps to supply Queensland clubs with essential rescue equipment through the Telstra Assistance Fund, a subsidy program that gives clubs the chance to apply for grants.
Department of Health

The Department of Health has been Surf Life Saving Queensland’s major Government partner since 2006, and together we are working to make a healthier Queensland through the promotion of sun safety messages and a healthy lifestyle. As well as providing mandatory safety signage on the beach, the Department of Health has lent its support to sun safety awareness through the provision of long-sleeved rash vests for Junior Activities water safety officers.  A further sun safety initiative was co-branded sunscreen with SLSQ and the Queensland Government logos which is distributed on the beach at various events. The Department of Health has also collaborated with SLSQ to produce a range of informative education materials, which have been widely distributed to Queensland schools, health providers, tourism operators, visitor information centres and corporate partners
Hot Tomato

Hot Tomato has been Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Gold Coast radio partner since 2006. They provide free on air time and production for promotion of surf sports events and the Surf Safe Appeal.  Hot Tomato also supports SLSQ by supplying onsite promotions at Gold Coast events.

Prime Radio
Prime radio supports SLSQ across Queensland with community campaigns, surf sports and fundraising initiatives. SLSQ’s previous relationship with HOT FM and Zinc FM on the Sunshine Coast has now expanded as the radio stations have become part of regional radio network Prime Radio which includes the stations Hot 91, Zinc 96, 4CC, 4RO, 4MK, EasyMix 1026, 4CA, Easymix 846, Sea FM 100.7 and Mix FM 106.3. This has allowed SLSQ to increase its coverage up the coast to other Prime centres, such as Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton and Gladstone. The network has supported the movement through live crosses, community service announcements, promotions, surf sports support and publicity for Jupiters Summer Surf Girl entrants.

Engine

SLSQ has partnered with Australian swimwear company Engine for the three years. Importantly the partnership is set to deliver a number of tangible benefits back into SLSQ’s sporting and fundraising programs across the state. Under the agreement Engine will provide swimwear and gear to Jupiters Summer Surf Girls, Queensland Cyclones Team, High Performance Squads and the Arafura Games Queensland Country Team. Engine Swim was founded in 2004 by Olympic medallist Toby Haenen and focuses on developing innovative swimwear to help athletes reach their peak performance.
