The club was established over 50 years ago and is a family orientated environment with all members of the family encouraged to participate in all aspects of Surf Life Saving.
Membership: The Club welcomes new members of the public and caters for ages from 5 to 105 years.
Opportunities: There are not only opportunities to participate in surf sports and fitness but also to learn life saving skills.
Training courses for Bronze Medallion, First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation techniques are available to members.
Contributing to community service where qualified members participate in voluntary beach patrols at Ellis Beach. Also the opportunity to go on to paid employment as a lifeguard at Cairns Beaches or the Lagoon.
Nipper Training is held Sunday mornings from 10am for 2 hours for Juniors aged 5 to 13, with a focus on participation, learning new skills and fun.
Cadets, Seniors and Masters train as a collective unit on Sunday mornings as well.
North Queensland Surf Sports Season runs from May to October every year, but the club operates 12 months of the year conducting training courses and the clubhouse is available for use by members all year round.
