Gold Coast Beach Safe Program
In 2009 Surf Life Saving Queensland developed the Gold Coast Beach Safe Program.
This program includes a welcoming service at the Gold Coast Airport, as well as a range of Surf Fun Clinics and other activities along the busy Gold Coast beaches.
The primary focus of the Gold Coast Beach Safe Program is to educate domestic and international tourists visiting the Gold Coast during the summer months about beach safety.
The airport welcoming service aims to reach tourists when they first step off the plane by handing them an ‘IMAP’ which details surf and beach safety information, as well as an informative road map.
In addition, the Surf Fun Clinics are targeted at visitors whilst they are holidaying at the beach and offer children free informative surf awareness sessions.
The Gold Coast Beach Safe program is proudly partnered by Harbour Town and the Gold Coast City Council and supported by the Gold Coast Airport.
